The Best Smoothie Ever

Smiley Flower Happy!

You won’t believe how good this is!

I’m a big fan of protein shakes for breakfast: they’re quick, filling, portable and delicious – especially if you use fresh ingredients and seasonings. Here’s my current favorite. I think it’s an original…. I concocted it in a flash of culinary inspiration. You can adjust the spices to taste. Experiment!
This smoothie makes me happy — every single time.

PUMPKIN PIE SMOOTHIE

Pour 1 cup of cold water into a blender. Add the following:

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I use lactose-free whey powder)
½ a ripe banana
Approx. ¾ cup cooked and cooled sweet potato or canned or fresh cooked pumpkin
A splash of vanilla and a Tablespoon of dark molasses
About 1 -1 ½ tsp. spice: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, tea masala (your choice)
A sprinkle of salt (optional)

Blend on high speed for at least 1 minute; add a few ice cubes and blend again. Best taken in a tall glass and sipped through a wide straw.
Unless you hate pumpkin pie (is that even possible?) you are going to love this!

This keeps me going for hours. And it’s such a happy way to start the morning!
